Product Description
- The SMT 976 Special CEVOLUTION abrasive mop disc has been specially optimized for use on stainless steel. It is also suitable for soft, lubricating materials such as non-ferrous metals and aluminum.
- The SMT 976 is used in metal construction, boat and ship building, and locksmithing, among other applications.
- The SMT 976 Special CEVOLUTION abrasive mop disc impresses with aggressive grinding and longer tool life than its predecessor SMT 996 thanks to the multi-bond coating and the self-sharpening effect when machining tough materials. Thanks to the multi-bond, the grinding temperature in the grinding zone is reduced. This makes the SMT 976 ideal for machining stainless steel. In addition, the multi-bond delays premature clogging when used on non-ferrous metals and aluminum. Thanks to the innovative CEVOLUTION technology, the abrasives offer the maximum performance in their field of application.
- A relatively high contact pressure is required so that the grain can break out and the self-sharpening effect can occur. For this reason, Klingspor advises using abrasive mop discs with ceramic grain only on powerful angle grinders, ideally with 1,100 watts or more. If the angle grinder is too weak, the grain can become blunt, which prevents the self-sharpening effect from occurring.
